Hi folks.
I'm Jim Forster, an ex cisco techy, now investing in smaller ISPs in Africa & Asia
A fast growing ISP in South Africa is looking for a Director or VP, Network Engineering. The roles covers 3 core functions;
1. Network operations; ensuring the network is online 24/7. It includes the highsite field teams and the NOC. There are 10 people here and it will double at least.
2. Design and Optimization; managing the core network mainly, IP/NLD, routing, the DCs and network planning. There are 3 engineers there and this team will grow.
3. Rollout and Expansion; a new department responsible for network growth.
They've been growing ~100% /year, and are just closing a very nice funding round, so must get ahead of the curve for network expansion. I’m fond of saying “small networks are easy, big networks are different”. We’re looking for someone that can make a big network. 🙂
Please write to me if you’re interested or if you know someone that might be interested..
Thanks!
