Resharing from ISPA

Please see below!

Dear members,

This is a reminder to register to vote in the upcoming AFRINIC elections if you have not yet done so. As a quick recap, here is what you need to do to register to vote online:

  1. A director, or similar authority at your organisation, will need to take a letter designating an e-voting representative to a Notary to be certified. Here is a template to use for that letter:

Designation of an e-voting representative for [company name]

To Whom It May Concern,

This letter serves to designate the following person as [company name]’s e-voting representative for the upcoming AFRINIC Board elections:

  • Full name: [representative’s full name]
  • Representative’s ID number:
  • Email address: [representative’s email address]
  • Contact number(s): [representative’s phone number(s) in intl. format, +27…]

I hereby attest that I hold the authority on behalf of [company name] to designate the above e-voting representative. I confirm that the above email address is the correct address to send [company name]’s secure e-voting link to.

This letter is accompanied by an up-to-date copy of the e-voting representative’s ID document and has been signed in the presence of a Notary, who has certified it.

Yours sincerely,

[to be signed in the presence of the Notary]

[name of the authorising person]

[position of the authorising person]

[company name]

  1. Take the letter, as well as a copy of the e-voting representative’s ID document to a Notary to be certified. Bear in mind that there will likely be a modest cost associated with this step. Note: AFRINIC has confirmed that the letter does not to be apostilled.

  1. Scan the letter together with the notarial certificate and the ID copy, and send the scanned documents to elections2025@afrinic.net before midnight on 2nd June 2025.
